If you're just starting off within the mystical world of crystals, it can be overwhelming. There are literally thousands of options out there, and it can be daunting to know where to even start. But don't fret, I've got your back. In this blog post, I'll walk you through 10 must have crystals to add to your collection. To top it off, I go into detail about what makes these crystals so essential, their uses, associated chakras, elements, and zodiacs. You're welcome :)

10. FLUORITE

I love me some fluorite. If I could sum the meaning of fluorite in one word, it would be: order. It's a great crystal when you need to get sh** done. Fluorite promotes focus, organization, and helps facilitate decision making. With everyone having to juggle a million things at once, well because…that's life, this is definitely a crystal worth having around. One of my favorite properties of fluorite is it's ability to help us focus on what's important. In other words, it's useful when setting priorities and goals.

If that wasn't enough, fluorite is also

highly protective and aids in clearing out negative thinking that might impede one's ability to focus. Additionally, fluorite comes in an array of colors from yellow, to purple, and everything in between. While each color offers unique benefits, all types offer the same general benefits of fluorite.

  • Color(s): Blue, Green, Yellow, Pink, Rainbow, Clear, Purple, Brown

  • Element(s): Wind

9. BLACK TOURMALINE (SCHORL)

Black tourmaline is the ultimate detoxifier and purifier and a staple in any crystal collection. It's a highly protective stone. It purifies negative energy and creates a protective shield around one’s aura. It is a common crystal to use to break curses and protect against physic attack. It can be used to balance all chakras.

It clears the aura and removes blockages. The iron content in black tourmaline protects against electromagnetic fields (EMFs). This makes it a great stone to keep near your computer or other electronic devices. Additionally, it mitigates fear and instills self-confidence. It promotes and attracts compassion, prosperity, acceptance, and creativity. It also brings mental balance.

Let's face it, we've all got baggage. I love working with rhodonite because it is one of the best stones in helping facilitate "letting go" and healing from things in the past…whatever that may be. However, it is especially useful for overcoming abandonment, betrayal, and emotional wounds. It aids in replacing feelings of anger, hurt, and bitterness and replacing with love and compassion. It encourages forgiveness and promotes new beginnings. Additionally, it helps in grounding one's energy and promotes achieving one's full potential.

6. PYRITE

Pyrite, is known as fools gold because of it's similar appearance to gold. It is another fave of mine. I'm not going to lie, one of the reasons I love pyrite because it adds a bit of bling to any room (fancy I know). But pyrite is more than just a pretty face. The benefits of pyrite are worth noting and why it belongs in your collection. Pyrite increases persistence, seeing things through, and will power. Let's be real…who doesn't need that?

Additionally, it has a very uplifting energy and aids in enhancing inner strength, self confidence and mitigating depression and sadness. It is a protective stone and shields against negative energy and manipulation. You can't have the name "fools gold" without promoting some $$$. Pyrite also encourages abundance and wealth.

I know...there are like dozens of types of jasper so just saying "jasper" is pretty broad. While each type of jasper has its own unique attributes, all are rooted in the general properties of jasper. I'd recommend selecting a jasper that works best for your needs.

Jasper is known as the "supreme nurturer". This means anytime you're going through anything, jasper is a great crystal to work with. It greatly mitigates stress and brings about a sense of peace and tranquility. It helps with battling problems, “head on” and is great for someone seeking inner truth.
